Cleaning and Recycling of Pottery

As winter gives us free time, take advantage of it to prepare for spring cleaning the pots and will be ready to receive our geraniums, and the reporting indoor plants and citrus fruits in due course.

This cleaning is essential to avoid contamination and fungal diseases.

Start by sorting through the pots and set aside all those broken or chipped only, you crush the most chipped into shards to put at the bottom of the pots after they have been disinfected. The largest will once returned, shelter for hedgehogs if you leave them a passage.

Cleaning the pots: Take a deep bowl and sit outside, remove the knife the largest residual soil within the pots and put them to soak in your tub of warm water using a special brush to handle, type dish brush and brush thoroughly inside to eliminate all the small roots adhering to the periphery, rinse several times by dipping the brush into the bleach to disinfect and end with a bath of vinegar and water which will remove all traces of limestone. Dry them back on a open area.
